Block-house is a finishing material, a type of batten with a convex outer surface and a flat inner surface. The main advantage of block-house over batten is a snugger fit between the boards. Block-house uses so-called "tongue-and-groove" connections (groves are located on the lower edge and tongues or dowels are on the upper one) along the board cut. They are very effective. This design property allows for joining all the block-house elements into a single panel.
Application of block house in construction:
- for drop siding of inner and outer walls of buildings, as well as for ceiling lining. On the outside block-house panels imitate the look of round timber.
- for cladding of nearly every type of surface: brick, concrete, timber beam, sandwich panels.
